Inspiration. 

 

Adventure and intrigue captures Fflur's imagination, she sees her Graduating collection as an ensemble of curious objects, inspired by her own cabinet of curiosities. Fflur wanted to recreate for all, the feeling of discovering for the first time a certain unique beauty found in a natural object. A sensitive designer, she creates pieces by working in 3D form. Having studied human emotional attachment to handbags and fashion accessories for her dissertation, Fflur is very eager to create pieces that conjure up deep feelings of emotion. 

 By fusing her admiration and knowledge of traditional craftsmanship with the aesthetics of luxury leather and her attention to detail, Fflur tries of capture the beauty of a raw natural item and re-craft it in an individual and intriguing way.
 

Moving forward from her Pre-Collection, Fflur has introduced the use of plastics and a variety of textures to her work. The rich combination of materials convey a texture of different emotions, and show an inspirational resourcefulness.

By working with a Jeweler Rachel Entwistle, Fflur has created unique pieces of hardware from detailed castings of natural objects. These intricate items display the beauty of a natural object with great subtlety and ensure that an affinity with natural form is always present in even the smallest item. Hybrid exoskeleton silver creations add gravitas to the collection, and a certain macabre quality.
